Fastboot Mobile, LLC, is a mobile solutions provider that specializes in mobile phone software development. Recently, in the midst of developing new and exciting software that can remotely lock cell phones, the company realized that they needed to develop a white paper to utilize as a sales tool – and they needed to write and design it as quickly as possible to stay competitive.
The Product: FastGuard
FastGuard is remote locking software that disables most handset functionality in cases of late payment, theft, or unreturned handsets. This mobile software can be used by businesses that use mobile device financing plans or businesses that loan phones to their employees for work purposes – and it can help these businesses recover devices if the phone is not paid for or returned as contracted.
FastGaurd software is innovative and badly needed by several different industries, including cell phone companies, rent-to-own companies, and any companies that give their employees work devices. However, there was competition between software developers as various businesses chose between different providers. Fastboot had to clearly show the following in their white paper:
The white paper would not only reflect the features and benefits of FastGuard, it would also represent the professionalism and competence of the Fastboot as a whole.
Fastboot mobile already had strong branding, including a modern logo and a bold black, gray, and green color pallet. Designer Sara Kauk integrated this existing branding into the white paper from beginning to end for a look that was not only consistent page to page, but also cohesive with the company’s website and other marketing pieces.
Next, Design Missoula brought the rest of the copy to life, from making it easy to digest dry industry numbers and facts to bringing graphs and charts to life.
On the content side, the team collected needed information through interviews with the major players at the company, gaining a complete understanding of the product and service as well as gathering needed data to back up claims. The result was an eye-catching 13-page white paper that clearly explained the need for and mission of FastGuard.
